This page points to the slideshows as pdf-files made with Lightroom of the pictures made during our 2007 summer holiday. Some of these are rather large so take some time in downloading, so if you think to look longer and repeatedly at these it is better to download them by right-clicking (Mac: Command-clicking) on the link and choosing: "Save target as ..".

The first week was spent in the Netherlands with several family happenings and visits to and of friends. In this week we made two walks on the "Strabrechtse Heide" 18 june and 19 june.

 At the end of that week (june 24) we travelled to our holiday region in Switzerland and made it a leasurely trip which took 3 days and the pictures made (including some just after arriving in Locarno) can be seen here

June 27 juni we walked along the Lago Maggiore and made these pictures.

The fine weather on June 28 invited for a trip by boat and we went to Isola de Brissago where many pictures were made

The next day the Maryland Jazz Band played in our hotel for a large group of German tourists: here are the pictures made.

On July 1 and 8 we walked through the Jean Arp-garden near the Lago Maggiore and photographed the sculptures, see here. On July 2 we made another short walk along the lake and photographed among other things the magnolia grandiflora: see here .

On July 3 the weather was slightly less fine but we could make a nice walk in Ascona as shown by these pictures.

July 4 we took the funicular railway to Orselina, visited the Madonna del Sasso and walked to Brione making these pictures.

July 5 we took a walk we made during previous visits: from Arcegno, through the woods past the Pestalozzi-camp slightly climbing and then slowly descending along some long hairpins until arriving in the valley where we had something to drink in the Grotto of Golino. Thereafter we lunched in the shadow and walked further from Golino to Cavigliano where we took the train to Locarno and we made many pictures which are taken up in this web-album made with Lightroom.

July 6 was again a very fine day and we drove along the Lago Maggiore to Verbania (Italy) where we visited and photographed the gardens of the Villa Taranto, the pictures are here.

July 7 was once more wonderful weather and we went to the Gamborogno (which lies on the other side of the Lago Maggiore from Locarno) . We had coffee on the "Tennisbar" in Vira and then went looking for the botanical gardens of the Gamborogno which were not very extensive but still had quite some flowers. We went back to "our" terrace in Vira and enjoyed the view on the lake and Locarno and all pictures made this day are here.

The weather on Sunday July 8 was somewhat unstable but we had enough sun on our walk in the Valley Onsernone where these pictures were made.
